Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church founded in 1848, is located in Bristersburg (as known by the locals) with an address of Catlett, VA. The name “Mount Horeb” comes from the name of the mountain where Moses was given the Ten Commandments by God.
Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church is part of the Rappahannock River District and is very active in the Heartwood Center Community Ministries. The Rappahannock River District is part of the Virginia Conference, which is part of the United Methodist Church.
Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church's vision is to be a community of faithul disciples who communicate God's unconditional love by living out Jesus' teachings and example of compassion, justice, mercy and peace, relying on the Holy Spirit to lead, strengthen and inspire us. Through our ministries of hospitality, worship, mission and spiritual formation we hope to be a community where people experience God’s awesome love, the healing grace of Jesus Christ, and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
