Volunteers and items are needed for Heartwood this summer.
The summer food program which runs from June 13 to August 22, will provide breakfast and lunch for school students who get reduced or free breakfast and lunches during the school year.
Items being collected in the fellowship hall: gallon size zip lock bags, ramen noodles, peanut butter, individual canned/plastic cup fruits, boxes of raisins, boxes of cranberries, boxes of apricots, crackers, cheese crackers, peanut butter crackers, shelf milk, box juices, box cereal, instant oatmeal, breakfast bars, pop tarts, apples, oranges, Lunchables, and individual microwaveable entrees (pasta and tomato sauce, macaroni and cheese, chili, beef stew, and soups)
Volunteers needed (sign-up on sheet in fellowship hall or email mounthorebumc@gmail.com): Volunteers to help distribute food (need 5 volunteers every Saturday from 2-5:30 PM at England Run Library)
All volunteers with direct contact with the children must participate in the child safety training or previously completed child safety training.
Supplies Needed: camp chairs, easily portable tables, battery operated fans, camping canopies, cups, plates, utensils, napkins, and paper towels
Volunteer Needs:
July 13-17 for middle school students. July 20-24 for high school students.
